Mailing-list - what's that?

A mailing-list is a kind of network of mail-addresses. Within this network it is possible to send news to a concrete group of interested persons..

What is it about?

It is about the fast exchange of information concerning Polish history among academics and interested persons worldwide. At this very moment there are registered at Polhist 469 persons from 14 countries.

Who may contribute?

Everybody who has access to the internet. You only have to register yourself at the organization who offers the technical equipment for the list and at Polhist itsself. Or, even easier, just send a mail to me. No personal information will be accessible by a third party.

How can I subscribe?

You may subscribe to "Polhist" visiting http://www.kbx7.de/?lid=13581&c=list . There is a button called "abonnieren". If this doesn't work, you may also write a mail directly to me. I will subscribe you and you only have confirm this by replying.

What does it cost?

Everything is completely free of charge.

What do I get out of it?

If you are interested in the most actual dates of conferences concerning the history of Poland or essays from newspapers, if you have special questions which a colleague or somebody else may be could answer,
if you would like to review a new book or get informed on new literature by others, in this case Polhist is the right thing for you!

Can I also post my information?

Every subscriber can send news to the other participants by mailing it to polhist@kbx7.de. Mails may be written in German, English or Polish.

And, don't worry! Neither there will be a flood of mails nor any postings without sense. The list is moderated which means that every contribution will be checked before sending it to all members.

Where Do all the subscribers come from?

In the moment the subscribers come from Austria, Australia, Belgium, Canada, Finland, Germany, Great Britain, Lithuania, Netherlands, Norwegia, Poland, Romania, Switzerland and the United States.
